    Certified Veterinary Technician

    Mulnix Animal Clinic

    Fort Collins, Colorado

    We are a small animal veterinary clinic in northern Colorado seeking a full-time Certified Veterinary Technician. Our clinic is AAHA accredited, and we prioritize utilizing our team to their full potential.     Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Checks patient medical records and enters treatments and charges in the computer system.
    • Restrains animals for Veterinarian as needed.
    • Maintains client educational material efficiently.
    • Performs specimen testing procedures accurately on blood, urine, or other samples as per medical orders.
    • Assists Veterinarian with in-patient care, including anesthesia monitoring and dental procedures.
    • Dispenses medication, communicates with patients' owners, and maintains accurate records.
    • Performs necessary lab work such as x-rays, blood profiles, and cultures.
    • Prepares specimens for mailing to hospitals.
    • Assists in animal care as required.
    • Handles tasks associated with the x-ray process and performs departmental housekeeping duties.
    • Admits and discharges patients and logs prescription refills.

    Essential Function Qualifications:

    To succeed in this role, an individual must be able to multi-task, think quickly, and build positive relationships with clients and co-workers.

    Skills:

    The ideal candidate will have expertise in dental cleanings, anesthesia induction, surgery preparation, vaccination administration, and more. They must work well independently, take initiative, and thrive in a busy environment.

    Education/Experience:

    High school diploma or equivalent is required, along with one to two years of related experience. Certification as a Veterinary Technician in Colorado is mandatory.
