POSITION TITLE: Senior DevOps Engineer

LOCATION: Remote, US

POSITION SUMMARY:

At Natera we build fast, reliable and scalable software that is easy to test and deploy. Our Engineering team works on a set of applications such as a complex Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) and Constellation - our cloud-based data analytics SaaS platform hosted on AWS and GCP. As a Cloud Engineer your responsibilities will include building, maintaining and evolving scalable Cloud infrastructure on which we deliver our software. In this role as a part of the DevOps/Operations organization you will be developing a dynamic fully automated highly available Cloud environment. You will also work closely with highly technical and experienced colleagues in the United States, Russia, and other countries around the world.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Design and develop fault tolerant, highly available and scalable Cloud infrastructure.
Make architectural decisions and be a part of the architecture division.
Partner with the Security team to incorporate respective requirements and best practices.
Drive everything-as-code approach and be a voice of standardization.
Collaborate with internal users to ensure needed cloud features are on the roadmap and get delivered.
Create design specifications and demonstrate solutions with detailed documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, and charts.
Design and build automation for Cloud platforms using Terraform.
Guide and encourage the teams to follow best practices in Cloud.
Participate in operations efforts and be the point person for Cloud infrastructure activities.
Build tools for monitoring Cloud infrastructure, and ensure critical components are monitored in the right ways.
Be ready to respond to a team or business critical incident in a timely manner.

QUALIFICATIONS:

BS in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
5 years of experience as a DevOps Engineer or a similar role.
2 years of experience with AWS services.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

Experience with developing, building, securing and operating sophisticated and highly automated Cloud infrastructure.
Experience managing and configuring complex multi VPC, multi region, multi cloud network architectures.
Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS and GCP.
Experience with Terraform and Ansible.
Experience with building monitoring solutions for Cloud infrastructure.
Experience with Linux/Unix operating systems.
Experience with Python and Shell scripting.
Experience with Docker.
Practical experience managing applications deployed using Docker in Cloud.
Good understanding of the dynamic nature of containerized infrastructure.
Excellent written, verbal and visual communication skills.
Be able to justify and stand for the proper solution.
High attention to detail in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
Strong will to learn new processes and technologies and develop new skills.
Experience programming in Java or other OOP languages is nice to have.
Experience with SQL and relational databases is nice to have.
Experience with Kubernetes is nice to have.
Experience programming in scripting and OOP languages is nice to have.

The pay range is listed and actual compensation packages are based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, years & depth of experience, certifications and specific office location. This may differ in other locations due to cost of labor considerations.
