GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
The Resource Recovery Center of Orange County is dedicated to providing the highest quality of care to those suffering from Alcohol and Substance Use Disorders. Substance Use Disorders are chronic illnesses, and treatment provided is based upon the presenting needs of the individual. Our goal is to help individuals and families begin the physical, emotional, and spiritual healing process by utilizing compassionate, encouraging and evidence-based practices. We ultimately strive to guide individuals, and their families, towards the goal of living life to its full potential-free from addiction.


JOB PURPOSE:


Under the supervision of the RSS Director, the RSS Manager will plan, organize, train, develop, and manage the facility's Recovery Support staff systems and provide aid to individuals who have substance use disorders in a NY State OASAS certified Part 816 Medically Supervised Inpatient Detoxification program and/or Part 818 Inpatient Rehabilitation Program.

The RSS Manager will coordinate engagement with all clients including but not limited to pre-admissions, safety screenings, safety rounds, orientation to the facility, monitoring and encouraging participation in daily program routine, and the discharge process.

The RSS Manager will foster participation with integrated teams using a facilitative leadership approach to inspire collaboration and teamwork amongst members.

The RSS Manager will ensure that a "best practice approach" to client care is maintained by staff, while promoting adhering to organizational values, vision, mission, and service to the recovery community.

The RSS Manager will be a dynamic leader with the ability to drive change and collaborate with the leadership to provide the best client experience here at Resource Recovery Center of Orange County.


SCOPE OF INFLUENCE:


  • Provide coaching and guidance support to RSS team members.
  • Acts as a role model when interacting with clients to facilitate client motivation.
  • Communicates effectively within interdisciplinary teams to support client recovery goals, reduce client complaints, and reduce incidents.
  • Ensures RSS shift to shift transitions are seamless, documented, and consistent.
  • Responsible for the RSS staff schedule, scheduling, securing coverage for call outs, vacations, and PTO, and ensures all RSS shifts have at least a minimum of 6 RSS staff members to meet RRCOOC standards for safety. This task will be supported by RSS Coordinator and Director.
  • Maintains a safe, organized, and therapeutic program environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES (85%):


  • Develops courteous and engaging customer service from safety desk or residential "L" posts in RSS department, ensuring RSS are cross trained for all posts/workstations.
  • Delegates and ensures that direct reports are completing tasks accordingly on shift.
  • Develops performance management culture in RSS department that includes coaching, supervision, training, progressive discipline, and performance evaluations.
  • Ensures RSS staff are provided with routine communication meetings, coaching and supervision.
  • Maintains schedule and documentation of supervision and coaching to direct reports.
Ensures completion of weekly department schedules, facilitates supportive feedback, supports process improvement on shift, and develops culture of teamwork.

Responsible for the RSS staff schedule, staff scheduling, securing coverage for call outs, vacations, and PTO, and ensures all RSS shifts have at least a minimum of 6 RSS staff members to meet RRCOOC standards for safety.


  • Creates an environment that supports trauma informed redirection and encouragement to adhere to program activity schedule and structure.
  • Provides education on safety & emergency codes.
  • Provides training and management of evacuations drills.
  • Ensures proper response to significant incidents including incident reporting, implementing corrective actions, communicating with departments, and outside entities when needed.
  • Ensures the safety and wellbeing of all clients, visitors, and personnel while providing excellent customer service in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Adheres to all company service and operating standards.
  • Remains in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.

OTHER (15%)**:


  • Participates in interdepartmental staff meetings & Health and Safety Committee.
  • Leads departmental meetings, shift exchange meetings and ensures standardized shift communication.
  • Completes all assigned trainings.
  • Monitors daily safety plan checks to ensure they are being completed by RSS staff. Upload RSS safety plans to RSS TEAMS folder.
  • Facilitates weekly supervision
