Duties:


  • Drive trucks with 5ton capacity and over, which may have up to 10wheel drive.
  • Repair damaged turf from tree and stump removal.
  • Interpret instructions to properly fillout logbooks.
  • Operate various types of landscaping equipment such as mowers, tractors, tree removal equipment, leaf blowers, weed whackers, chain saws, chippers, and stump grinders.
  • Assure vehicle is not loaded beyond capacity.
  • Haul personnel, articles and materials on and off Post.

Conditions of Employment:


  • This position requires the incumbent to be able to lift up to 75 pounds.
  • This position requires the incumbent to obtain and maintain valid Government Motor Vehicle Operators Identification Card (OF346) for all equipment the incumbent must operate within 30 calendar days.
  • This position requires the incumbent to pass a preplacement medical and annual medical surveillance exam in accordance with Occupational Health requirements.
  • Position is adverseweathermission essential: must report for duty during natural disasters, inclement weather, and other emergencies.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid state Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class B.

Motor Vehicle Operator~ without more than normal supervision. Ability to perform common operations of gasoline and diesel-powered landscape and tree care equipment. Able to operate heavy load dump trucks on public roads. -

Physical Effort: Work assignments involve standing, stooping, bending, kneeling, climbing and working in tiring and uncomfortable positions. Frequently lifts, carries and sets up material and equipment weighing up to 75 pounds. Physical effort is required to turn large, heavy vehicles and operate vehicle controls.

Working Conditions:Work is performed outside in all types of traffic and weather. May be called in for overtime for snow removal and tree emergency.
