Our Mission:

Since the 1893 World Columbian Exposition, our organization has aimed to connect people to the natural environment and human history.


The Exhibitions Project Coordinator works closely with the Exhibitions Planning Director to support projects across the spectrum of the Field Museum's program offerings, including inbound temporary, outbound traveling, and permanent exhibitions.


Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Provide support to the traveling exhibitions division: coordinate team travel for venue installations and deinstallations and assist with travel expense reimbursements; maintain uptodate marketing and client support materials including website, tour schedules, fact sheets, and host materials; assemble proposals and intellectual property packages; manage image and media licensing; coordinate visits with current and prospective clients; assist with client database maintenance
  • Assist Exhibitions Directors and Project Managers in all aspects of exhibition project management: circulate exhibition agreements, create presentations, coordinate and document meetings, archive physical and digital project documents, host museum colleagues, and perform additional duties as needed
  • Provide administrative support to the department and Directors. Coordinate large meetings, collect mail, order supplies, maintain departmental phone lists and bulletin boards, and perform other activities as needed
  • Coordinate departmental staff travel as needed.
  • Serve as Salesforce administrator: monitor Salesforce updates/releases, implement and customize, as needed; enter inbound exhibition proposals into Salesforce

Qualifications:


  • A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent level of education and experience is required
  • Interest in the humanities and/or STEM is required
  • A minimum of two years of experience in a museum or similar field (such as a nonprofit or community organization) is required
  • Welldeveloped organizational skills, including the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously, set and manage priorities, and meet deadlines
  • Solid work ethic, exceptional attention to detail, and followthrough
  • Excellent interpersonal skills: ability to work well with others in the department, across the Museum, and externally with vendors and clients
  • Experience exchanging written communication within a professional environment
  • Commitment to the mission and values of the Field Museum
