Special Events Coordinator Intern - McLean, United States - Shipgarten

Description

As a member of our internship program, you should be prepared to work in a fast-paced team environment, and will finish the internship having gained experience in various aspects of event coordination and business development.

We are a restaurant atmosphere with a lot of moving parts, so plan to be able to chip in and help with other aspects of the business when necessary.

College credit and paid opportunities may be available along with it. Students majoring in Marketing, Public Relations, Event Planning, Business Management, and Communications are highly encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Help plan and execute events within the restaurant, as well as in the local community
• Work with craft breweries, distilleries, local organizations, and charities to help promote their products and causes with events at Shipgarten and our sister restaurant, Hops N Shine
• Assist with fulfillment of marketing offers
• Assist with running events
• Provide support to social media effort
• Online outreach and promotion using Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram
• Answer and make phone calls

Requirements:

• Applicants must be available to work Thursday
• Sunday
• Applicants should have excellent verbal and written communication skills, with general Web and social media knowledge.
• Applicant should have reliable transportation to and from the restaurant (We are located at the McLean Metro Station)
