Responsiblities

Being a Flagger/Traffic Controller involves a significant responsibility for ensuring road safety during various closures.

This role entails mastering road closure techniques using cones and barricades, along with skillfully managing two-way flagging using stop & slow signs to guide traffic safely through work zones.


Duties:


  • Direct traffic according to established traffic control plans and procedures
  • Set up and remove traffic control devices such as cones, signs, and barricades
  • Communicate with drivers and pedestrians to provide instructions and ensure compliance with traffic regulations
  • Monitor traffic flow and adjust control measures as needed
  • Coordinate with construction crews and other personnel to maintain a safe work environment
  • Report any incidents or safety hazards to supervisors or appropriate authorities
  • Maintain accurate records of traffic control activities

Experience:

To be successful in this role, you should have the following experience:

  • Previous experience in traffic control or related field preferred
  • Familiarity with operating heavy equipment such as loaders, graders, backhoes, and dump trucks
  • Knowledge of utility locating procedures and equipment
  • Ability to read and interpret construction plans and traffic control diagrams
  • Strong communication skills to effectively interact with drivers, pedestrians, and coworkers

Pay:
$ $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
