Job Summary:


The Practice Associate III is responsible for the patient welcome experience functions, general administrative work, and scheduling and coordinating of surgical and in-office procedures and other specialty services.

This position is also a lead role that supports peers with expertise, organizational knowledge and guidance in support of the day-to-day operations of practice and research patient care in the Department of OBGYN.

Responsibilities:


  • Greet patients and visitors and answer patient telephone calls.
  • Coordinate and appointments, ultrasounds, surgeries, procedures and other specialty services.
  • Schedule postoperative and other followup appointments and other related tests as requested.
  • Assist with coordination of care to other specialties and appointments.
  • Function as a liaison between resident, attending physician, patient, and OR, and patient with all aspects of scheduling.
  • Verify patient insurance eligibility, benefits, and coordination of benefits prior to procedure date. Inform patient on fees and ensure collection of copays and payments
  • Conduct all predetermination, authorization and precertification.
  • Conduct preregistration, checkin, checkout, appointments and other related tasks.
  • Obtain required registration and intake information from patients; verify and/or update any new insurance or other information in EPIC; obtain prior authorizations and referrals for visits and tests and verifies eligibility for services; accurately indicate arrivals, noshows, reschedules and physician cancellations in EPIC; collect all timeofservice and past due payments.
  • Manage and review physician's schedules to ensure authorizations and precertifications for office visits, injections and procedures are obtained.
  • Provide general administrative support to physicians and manager.
  • Assist Supervisor/Manager with special projects and supervise specific tasks as determined.
  • Assist with onboarding new staff.
  • Serve as a first point of escalation for complex cases or scheduling issues.
  • May serve as team point person as directed by Supervisor.
  • Follow endofday closing procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications:


  • High school diploma or equivalency is required.
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in a medical office environment with strong proficiency of medical terminology and surgical scheduling.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word & Excel) or similar software is required and an ability and willingness to learn new systems and programs.
  • Prior experience in Epic/EHR is preferred.
  • Prior experience in an OBGYN office setting is preferred.

Hourly Rate Ranges:
$ $32.69

Our salary offers will fall within these ranges based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to experience, skill set, training and education.
