Position:
Orthodontic Assistant (OA)

We are a fast-growing dental company with offices located in East Los Angeles, Inglewood, Lynwood, Pico Rivera, and Westchester. Our state-of-the-art dental practice is seeking a talented & enthusiastic Orthodontic Assistant.


Required Qualifications:

A minimum of 1 year of related experience

Any required state specific licenses or certifications

A current CPR certification

An active X-Ray license

Schedule:
Monday through Friday & Some Saturdays & Sundays| Up to 15-16 days per month


Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Perform orthodontic adjustments
  • Prepare teeth for bonding and debanding
  • Assist in the placement and removal of appliances
  • Sterilize instruments and operatories
  • Take digital radiographs and full records
  • Take alginate impressions
  • Fixed retainer fabrication and cementation
  • Bracket setup/placement
  • Charting of patient information
  • Impressions for study models
  • Placement of space maintainers
  • Communicate with patients regarding treatment and oral hygiene
  • Maintain and manage patient records in compliance with HIPPA
  • Select and presize orthodontic bands & arch wires prescribed by the orthodontist
  • Remove and recement properly contoured and fitting loose bands that are not permanently attached to any appliance
  • Assist orthodontist with orthodontic treatment
  • Encourage, educate, and motivate patients to follow the recommendations of the doctor
  • Cleaning area
  • Other duties as assigned by the Back-Floor Supervisor and/or the Ortho Manager

Education and Experience

  • Current Certified OA
  • Xray license
  • Orthodontic assisting experienceminimum 1 year

Job Type:
Part-time


Pay:
$ $27.50 per hour


Expected hours:
No more than 35 per week
