Position:
Orthodontic Assistant (OA)
We are a fast-growing dental company with offices located in East Los Angeles, Inglewood, Lynwood, Pico Rivera, and Westchester. Our state-of-the-art dental practice is seeking a talented & enthusiastic Orthodontic Assistant.
Required Qualifications:
A minimum of 1 year of related experience
Any required state specific licenses or certifications
A current CPR certification
An active X-Ray license

Schedule:
Monday through Friday & Some Saturdays & Sundays| Up to 15-16 days per month
Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities
- Perform orthodontic adjustments
- Prepare teeth for bonding and debanding
- Assist in the placement and removal of appliances
- Sterilize instruments and operatories
- Take digital radiographs and full records
- Take alginate impressions
- Fixed retainer fabrication and cementation
- Bracket setup/placement
- Charting of patient information
- Impressions for study models
- Placement of space maintainers
- Communicate with patients regarding treatment and oral hygiene
- Maintain and manage patient records in compliance with HIPPA
- Select and presize orthodontic bands & arch wires prescribed by the orthodontist
- Remove and recement properly contoured and fitting loose bands that are not permanently attached to any appliance
- Assist orthodontist with orthodontic treatment
- Encourage, educate, and motivate patients to follow the recommendations of the doctor
- Cleaning area
- Other duties as assigned by the Back-Floor Supervisor and/or the Ortho Manager
Education and Experience
- Current Certified OA
- Xray license
- Orthodontic assisting experienceminimum 1 year

Requirements:
- Sitting chairside for long periods of time
- Occasional standing
- Ability to travel to multiple locations
- Reliable transportation
- Must be able to handle a high volume of pts
Job Type:
Part-time
Pay:
$ $27.50 per hour
Expected hours:
No more than 35 per week
