Job Summary

CenterPoint Energy is looking for an
Associate Control System EMS Analyst to join our
Control Systems Operations
Team, located in
Houston, TX.
Essential Functions

Interface with operations teams to communicate the status of projects and new implementations
Interface with management to identify technology opportunities
Identify, recommend, and participate in changes to standard OS templates to stay current with security requirements and approved operating system levels
Research, analyze, recommend, and develop methods to increase productivity and reduce downtown if any for the user community
Participate in projects and utilize standard project management methodologies
Install server hardware, operating systems, and related utilities
Install storage hardware and related network infrastructure
Adhere to standard configuration for servers and recommends changes as needed for improved server performance or management
Identify the need for and assist with the documentation of processes and procedures
Assist management as needed with various tasks that enable the overall Control Systems department to function efficiently
Keep current with the latest technology trends and innovations to meet the systems' requirements
Know the "best practices" when providing a solution to the client
Works in a team environment
Communicates well with technical and nontechnical clients
Manages and monitors computer systems and appliances that support transmission realtime operations and distribution control at the Energy Control Center (ECC) and Addicks Operations Center (AOC).
System Administration for LINUX and Windows servers in a realtime environment.

Education Description

Requires a Bachelor degree in Computer Engineering, Engineering, Computer Science, IT or equivalent field from an accredited college or university. Extensive experience in cyber security or CIP compliance regulations (four years at minimum) with professional training certificates in cyber security or network security may be considered in lieu of degree.
