This position is responsible for the accounting operations of the company.

This includes the production of periodic financial reports, maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records, and a comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk.

The controller is also responsible for enhancing the accuracy of the company's reported financial results and ensuring that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles or international financial reporting standards.

_This position is based at our headquarters in Michigan City, IN; this position can work remotely up to 2 days per week.

Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Develop, implement, and maintain financial controls and guidelines including internal controls to maximize protection of company assets.
  • Maintain internal safeguards for revenue recognition, actual costs, and adherence to organizational budgets.
  • Oversee and or perform basic accounting functions such as A/R, A/P, time billing, purchase requisitions, G/L, tax payments and inventory control.
  • Implement consistent accounting policies, practices and procedures that meet professional (GAAP), regulatory, and legal standards.
  • Manage monthend, quarterly, and yearend closings in conjunction with Company's CPAs.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements for the company.
  • Maximize payroll efficiency through innovative process in conjunction with Human Resources.
  • Manage annual and oneoff financial and 401K audits and serve as company liaison with auditors.
  • Ensure business activities are covered by valid, binding contracts as required.
  • Oversee, mentor and support accounting team with proactive leadership that creates a culture of trust, productivity, and accountability.
  • Assist in developing short
- and long-term operational strategies to improve the company's performance.
