The Buyer is accountable for the execution of policies, procedures, and activities related to the procurement and control of outsourcing to meet the designated departmental, division and company goals and objectives in compliance with legal and ethical standards of ATI.
Analyze, negotiate, and award outsourcing work at competitive prices with qualified suppliers. Solicit and evaluate quotations for outsourcing work to assist estimating.Take decisive procurement action in crisis situations having substantial monetary impact, i.e. machine breakdown, critical raw material requirements, etc.
Originate and implement cost saving measures to establish lowest end cost and acceptable quality.
Review requisitions for quantity, specification, delivery required, etc., for order placement at lowest cost and acceptable quality and delivery.
Develop and maintain existing and new supplier relationships to improve quality, service, and pricing.
Visit supplier facilities to evaluate their potential, negotiate pricing, and audit production capabilities.
Expedite open orders to insure timely delivery.
Negotiate and resolve suppliers' claims in a fair, timely, and effective manner.
Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Marketing, Economics)
1+ years' experience in purchasing
Bachelor's Degree (i.e. Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Marketing, Economics)
Must be proficient with computer and Microsoft Excel and use of ERP system.
