    Plant Mechanic

    Principle Duties:

    • Ascertain that equipment is running efficiently and producing quality products and packages
    • Repair and maintain any and all equipment and systems as required
    • Perform preventative maintenance on plant & warehouse equipment, machinery, and systems as required
    • Cooperate with the equipment operators and other plant, warehouse, and maintenance employees
    • Maintain responsibility for the safe and efficient operation of the equipment and the safety of those operating it
    • Relieve as the manager deems necessary
    • Perform other duties as assigned by management

    Requirements:

    • Minimum of 3 years maintenance experience in a high speed machinery environment (preferably dairy)
    • Previous experience working with the principals of mechanical (hydraulic and air) and electrical machines
    • Knowledge in refrigeration machinery / equipment
    • Prior experience of ammonia refrigeration a plus
    • Knowledge of boiler operation and mechanics
    • Ability to lift and carry up to 75 lbs.
    • Ability to perform the following physical behaviors repetitively throughout a shift: standing, walking, handling, reaching horizontally, reaching above the shoulder, reaching below waist, grasping firmly, pushing buttons, bending, stooping, squatting, crouching, kneeling, pulling and pushing
    • Ability to push/pull a manual pallet fork truck, up to 1000 pounds and/or ability to operate an electric fork truck
    • Ability to work in cold and damp environments
    • Ability to climb ladders of varying heights and perform various functions while on the ladder
    • Ability to withstand noisy environments
    • Qualified candidates should possess and maintain a valid drivers' license
