Our Marketing & Communications team plays a pivotal role in shaping our library's identity and connecting with our patrons through compelling visual content.


What You'll Do


As our Visual Communications Coordinator, you will be the artistic force behind our promotional efforts, working on both print and digital platforms to create eye-catching and engaging materials.

You'll collaborate closely with our Head of Marketing & Communications and other library staff to ensure that our brand message is consistently communicated across all channels.


Key Responsibilities

Graphic Design & Visual Content Creation: Design posters, flyers, brochures, digital banners, social media graphics, and more to promote library events, programs, and services.

Brand Management:Maintain and enhance the library's brand identity with cohesive and consistent design.

Social Media Content:Assist in implementing an editorial calendar by creating shareable content, including graphics, images, videos, and other multimedia elements.

Photography:Capture high-quality photographs of programs, events, library spaces, resources, and staff for promotional use.

Video Production:Produce engaging long and short-form video content for our website and social media, collaborating with the Head of Marketing & Communications.

Collaboration & Innovation:Work closely with the marketing team, event coordinators, and other staff to develop creative solutions that meet project objectives. Contribute innovative ideas for marketing campaigns and outreach efforts.

Training & Support:Provide training and support to staff on visual communication tools and best practices.

Professional Development:Stay current with design and social media trends to keep our visual communications fresh and relevant. Attend networking and continuing education opportunities.


Who You Are
-
Educational Background:Bachelor's degree in graphic design, marketing, fine arts, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

Design Proficiency:Proven experience as a graphic designer with a diverse portfolio. Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office Suite, and Canva.

Creative Skills:Ability to create original artwork and illustrations using industry-standard graphics software on a Mac-based platform.

Technical Expertise:Experience with the final stages of design, including printing and cutting. Experience in video production, editing, animation, and photography is preferred.

Customer Service:Friendly, efficient, and knowledgeable in providing exceptional customer service.

Team Player:Strong collaboration skills and the ability to work closely with team members and other departments.

Salary & Hours:$23-25/hr with anticipated increase on July 1st. 25 hour in-person workweek. This is an in-house position with a flexible schedule. May include occasional nights and weekends throughout the year.
