Corry Rubber is one of the country's foremost manufacturers of molded elastomer and rubber products for diversified industrial and medical end markets. To facilitate this growth, the company is looking to hire an exceptional candidate to act as its maintenance supervisor.

Primary Job Description

Candidate will be responsible for maintaining all of the company's capital equipment and facilities as well as the leadership of its maintenance department staff. Depending on candidate preparedness, the retiring maintenance supervisor will spend as much time providing on-job training as needed.

Responsibilities

Maximize equipment up-time through routine and preventative maintenance of all building, grounds, support and production equipment; ensure company is adequately supplied with stock of material and tools required to fulfill this goal
Diagnose mechanical and electrical problems and determine how to correct them, checking blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs as necessary
Develop and execute a preventative maintenance plan for capital equipment and facilities
Manage work schedules, produce written work orders and provide supervision, leadership and required technical and safety training to the company's maintenance department staff
Identify and recommend new capital equipment investments by participating in the budgeting process; successfully install such investments
Identify, recommend and implement opportunities for process improvements and automation
Interface with, schedule and supervise any work required by outside contractors
Collaborate with and facilitate the success of other departments especially production, quality and engineering
Participate in the tool design process to streamline and expedite the launch of new business

Suggested Background

High school diploma or equivalent required
Two-year (2) degree in specialized maintenance trade preferred
Five (5) years working in a heavy industrial maintenance role required; rubber industry experience preferred but not required
Strong background in heavy industrial maintenance with a focus on hydraulics and pneumatics
Experience and comfort with machining, welding, electrical, electronics and/or computers
Proven track record of leadership and associated skills including excellent attitude, communication and the belief that anything can be accomplished
Fluency in reading blueprint and other schematics
Strong reading, writing and math skills
Ability to lift heavy loads
