    Heavy Equipment / Diesel Mechanic - Road Service


    LOCATION:
    Raleigh, NC & Surrounding Areas


    TYPE:
    Full-Time (Monday-Friday)


    SUMMARY:
    The Road Heavy Equipment Technician is responsible for responding to road service calls from customers in the territory.

    This person will be troubleshooting and performing mechanical repairs and installs on a variety of heavy equipment in the field, including street sweepers, Hydrovac trucks and refuse trucks.


    POSITION REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:
    Heavy Duty Equipment Technician or Transport Mechanic2+ years' experience as a Certified Mechanic preferredMust have valid driver's license with a clean driver's abstractPossession of a CDL is preferred or willing to obtainExperienced with hydraulic and/or electrical workExposure to Street Sweepers, Vacuum Trucks or Refuse equipment considered an assetChassis experience considered an asset


    POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:


    Perform trouble shooting, mechanical repairs and PDIs (pre-delivery inspections) on a variety of heavy equipment in the fieldConduct repairs in a timely and effective manner, communicating effectively with the Service Writer and Parts team to ensure optimal efficiencyConduct regular preventative maintenance tasks and inspections, as requiredCommunicate with Lead Hand and/or Service Manager regarding job progress and job status changesManage Service Truck inventory and ensure all required items are in place for health and safety complianceComplete all work order functions in PFW for all service calls completedSAFETY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Employees must:Work in compliance with the appropriate safety legislation/regulations/safety policiesReport any known workplace hazard or safety violationsCooperate with their workplace's Safety Committee or health and safety representativeUse any safety equipment, protective devices or clothing required Not remove or make ineffective any protective device required by the Company or by the regulations.
