- Total compensation is based on a mix of base salary in addition to a Sales Incentive Plan with incentives tied to performance goals.
- The estimated base pay range for this role is $ $28.32/hour. Offers to top candidates are based on various factors such as previous experience, qualifications and internal equity.
- Account Specialists are eligible for an annual incentive based upon medical contract retention within their assigned segment. Depending on retention rates, bonus earned can range from $0-$5,000.
- Additionally, certain Account Specialists are eligible for a monthly incentive for new product sales. An incentive of $25 per weighted contract will be earned.

- Assists walk-ins and answers inbound calls.
- Sells individual products including health insurance, Medicare products, supplemental insurance, dental, vision, travel and ancillary products, if applicable.
- Researches and resolves benefits, billing and/or claims issues.
- Educates and provides product information and application assistance to individual members.
- Proactively recommends products needed by the member to increase customer satisfaction.
- Completes, reviews and processes client and individual paperwork. Follows-up for additional information, as needed.
- Provides assistance, service and education to members, clients and/or brokers. Ensures accuracy and timeliness in responding to a variety of inquiries. Processes and resolves issues with varying complexities, which may include documentation of calls, system updates and/or claims research.
- Supports sales and account management activities such as processing new to blue clients and renewals for assigned accounts.
- Educates and provides product information and application assistance for members, clients and/or brokers.
- Assists with distribution of materials to clients.
- Proactively informs internal team members regarding changes to client information.
- Calculates renewal rates and formulates a proposal for new to blue clients and renewals.
- A High School Diploma / GED and at least 1 year of experience in a customer-focused role.
- Insurance Producer License or willingness to obtain this within 3 months of hire and maintain continuing education requirements annually.
- Shows interest in understanding the needs and expectations of others.

A day in the life
The Account Specialist is responsible for supporting the sales and account management activities for all product lines. This includes answering member, client and/or broker inquires, assisting in enrollment processing, claims billing, account servicing as well as client implementation and renewal process.
