    Elia and Ponto, PLLC, a personal injury law firm, located in Southfield is seeking a highly motivated HR Assistant Manager to assist in leading and directing the routine functions of the firm in the areas of recruiting, screening, hiring, onboarding, payroll, benefits administration, and retention. Duties include assisting with:

    • Manages the talent acquisition process, which includes recruitment, interviewing, and hiring of qualified job applicants
    • Develops, implements, and monitors the employee onboarding process
    • Processing of payroll transactions including salaries, bonuses, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions
    • Administer and maintain employees benefits programs (401k, health insurance, etc.)
    • Employee time tracking monitoring
    • Participate in the performance review process
    • Provide assistance to employees and managers in the application/interpretation of staff policies, procedures, and guidelines.
    • Oversees employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations
    • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance
    • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law
    • Partners with the leadership team to understand and execute the organization's human resource and talent strategy, particularly as it relates to current and future talent needs, recruiting, retention, and succession planning
    • Performs other duties as assigned

    Required Skills/Abilities:

    • Superior written and verbal communication skills.
    • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
    • Advanced understanding of office management practices including knowledge of accounting procedures and information systems.
    • Articulate, organized, able to prioritize tasks, delegate when appropriate and a team player with excellent listening, verbal and written communication skills
    • Extremely proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or other similar software program, specifically Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook and Adobe Acrobat
    • Ability to maintain confidential records.
    • Ability to think and act independently and with minimal supervision.
    • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
    • Professional appearance and demeanor.

    Education and Experience:

    • Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance or related field required.
    • At least five years of experience in a management position.
    • Legal Assistant background is helpful.

    Salary Based upon experience.
