- Follows the claims process and assure this is completed in a timely manner.
- Work closely with Account Services and Operations to ensure accuracy in billing.
- Reconcile accounts when payments are received.
- Performs follow-up on open AR, insurance billing, and collection activities.
- Files appeals for denied claims.
- Processes refund requests for insurance companies.
- Answers billing and payment related questions for patients.
- Recommends rebilling to third parties if appropriate.
- Refers accounts to outside collection agencies.
- 2 years' experience in a related position (Medical billing, insurance follow up, denials, medical claims, revenue cycle, etc.)
- Experience investigating and fighting Denied Medical Claims with Commercial Insurance Carriers (United Health, Cigna, Aetna, etc.)
- EPIC experience required.
- Strong understanding of insurance claims processing and reimbursement required.
- High school diploma or equivalent; certification in medical billing and coding preferred.
- Schedule: Monday – Friday | option to start at 7am, 7:30am or 8am. (8-hour shift – 40 hours per week)
- Pay: $22 - $24/hr. (based on related experience).
- Pay Cycle – Weekly | Medical, Dental & Vision Benefits offered.
- This position requires employees to work onsite 5 days per week.
