Our healthcare facility is in search of a Patient Solution Specialist to provide compassionate care and assistance to our patients.

As the Patient Solution Specialist, you will be the primary point of contact for patients, ensuring they receive excellent customer service and their needs are met timely.

In addition, as a trusted member of specific communities, you will utilize your personal experience and training to assist individuals and families in accessing, engaging, and utilizing community resources, including health and wellness services.

Your combined skills in call management, registration, and community health work will contribute to improved health outcomes and reduced health disparities by increasing access to care.


This is a 32hr/wk position.

Responsibilities:


  • Act as the primary contact for patients, families, and caregivers, and provide them with the necessary information and support
  • Respond to patient inquiries, concerns, and complaints in a friendly and professional manner, addressing their needs with empathy
  • Perform insurance verifications to ensure clients receive relevant information about their insurance benefits for their initial intake appointment for medical, dental, and behavioral health services.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers, clinical staff, and other departments to ensure seamless delivery of care
  • Maintain accurate and uptodate patient records, ensuring their privacy is protected in compliance with HIPAA regulations
  • Educate patients on their healthcare options, including insurance coverage, financial assistance, and other resources available to them
  • Provide initial and ongoing telephonic and inperson support to clients/patients seeking assessment for social determinants of health (SDOH) such as basic needs; legal, medical, housing, transportation, insurance, by offering and completing a comprehensive needs assessment

Requirements:


  • High school diploma or equivalent; associates in healthcare or related field preferred
  • Three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with electronic medical records systems
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance regulations
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a positive and proactive attitude
  • Flexibility to work occasional weekends or evenings to meet patient needs
