A vacancy currently exists in the Assessor Recorder County Clerk office in San Bernardino._**_ The resulting eligible list may be used to fill immediate and future vacancies throughout the County as they occur_.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

Promotion:

Records Technician Trainee is the trainee level within the Records Technician series; incumbents are eligible for promotion to
Records Technician (up to $58,88- depending on selected benefit option) upon successful completion of a training program and receipt of a satisfactory work performance evaluation.

Incumbents
must promote within twelve (12) months or be terminated.

Travel: 1) Work locations may vary to meet departmental needs.
2) Incumbents will be required to provide their own transportation, be willing to travel to all locations as needed, and work some evenings, weekends, and holidays.
3) Offices are currently located in Hesperia, Joshua Tree, and San Bernardino and the RV-Mobile Unit.
4) At the time of hire, a valid California Cass C driver license and proof of automobile liability insurance must be produced for the individual providing the transportation. _Mileage reimbursement is available._


Minimum Requirements:


  • Applicants must meet
    one of the options below in order to qualify and advance:

  • Option 1: One (1) year of full-time equivalent experience receiving, examining, indexing, and processing a large volume of documents in a County/City Recorder, Clerk office or legal Court Clerk office.

Option 2:Two (2) years of full-time equivalent experience processing legal or recordable documents in a government agency, law office, real estate, title, escrow, bank/credit union, mortgage company or similar office setting.

Option 3: Completion of an associate degree or 30 semester (45 quarter) units of completed college coursework.
_(Transcripts MUST be attached if no conferred/awarded degree.)_

NOTE:

Qualifying degrees or coursework must be completed at a college or university accredited by any accrediting association recognized by the United States Department of Education.

Degrees or coursework completed outside the U.S.

must be accompanied with an evaluation report from a reputable credential evaluation service showing equivalency to degrees or coursework completed at a college or university accredited by any accrediting association recognized by the United States Department of Education.

  • Review, understand, apply, and explain laws, regulations, and policies governing legal documents.
  • Perform basic arithmetical calculations.
  • Deal tactfully and courteously with the public.

  • Meet departmental production standards.
