Title:
Domestic Violence Crisis Advocate - FT
Purpose:
To provide coordinated crisis intervention and support services to residential Domestic Violence clients
Duties:
- Responsible for intake assessment, development and implementation of a case plan based on identified need.
- Provide information and emotional support to enhance client's coping skills in effectively negotiating for needed resources.
- Responsible for appropriate system linkages and referrals to achieve client case plan.
- Responsible for monitoring and tracking service utilization.
- Responsible for evaluation of services and outcome measures.
- Responsible for collection and maintenance of client records and service data.
- Responsible for domestic violence on-call response.
- Other duties as assigned by the Team Lead (to include, but not limited to) community engagement opportunities, internal support group, and activities with residential and transitional housing clients.
Accountability:
The Domestic Violence Crisis Advocate is responsible to the Program Team Lead and/or Director of Victim Services-DSD, and the client population for the timely, professional and effective performance of all job duties.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of two years of experience working with the identified client population or one that is transferable.
- Experience in working with people from diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
- Demonstrated sensitivity to issues of social justice.
- Demonstrated ability to work in diverse teams.
- Ability to expand communication style to multiple cultural environments.
- Ability to speak a second language valued.
- Ability to network with other professionals within and outside the Agency on behalf of the client population.
- Willingness to utilize, share and/or develop technology skills.
- Minimum of Associates in Social Work or a related field; or minimum two years of experience in social services or a related field.
- Valid New Jersey driver's license and insurability through AVANZAR's insurance carrier.
Pay:
$40,000.00 per year
