We are currently initiating a search for a construction foreman to help grow our solid waste practice in Virginia and the southeastern US.
This position is for a landfill gas Operations and Maintenance (O&M) Construction Foreman and will report to the Area O&M Director.
This field position will be leading a team of employees by instructing and mentoring tasks daily according to client needs.
Common client tasks are excavation, backfilling holes/trenches, fusing HDPE pipe for site infrastructure and extending and repairing the Gas Collection and Control System (GCCS) features.
The following describes requirements for this position:
- Ability to instruct and mentor junior employees.
- Possess a strong work ethic and desire to lead others
- Requires the ability to comply with all safety policies and procedures; communicate effectively with coworkers, managers and clients to ensure tasks are completed properly and timely
- An understanding of construction equipment, including safe operating practices and signs of maintenance issues
- Must be able to operate general construction equipment such as a skid steer, loader, backhoe and excavators (up to 68,000lbs)
- Able to load and unload construction supplies around the worksite manually and with the use of equipment
- Able to operate a variety of hand and power tools including drills, hammers, and other tools as needed
- Experience with fusing HDPE pipe and possess a current HDPE fusion certification
- Ability to perform tasks including physical labor and must be able to lift up to 75 lbs
- Will be required to work in all weather conditions
- Requires good manual dexterity; may be standing, bending, kneeling or sitting for long periods
- Must be able to pass a preemployment drug screening
- Must have a clean motor vehicle report to be able to drive company vehicles
