    The Collins Aerospace Avionics Test Engineering organization is looking for a motivated individual to be a Senior Project Engineer leading multidisciplinary teams of engineers (including systems, mechanical, electrical, and software disciplines) developing complex engineering solutions. This role will primarily support the Cedar Rapids Avionics Boundary Scan and Structural Test Engineering Team.

    The Avionics Test Engineering organization is a global engineering organization responsible for the design, development, and maintenance of the manufacturing test solutions in support of the $5B Avionics strategic business unit as well as external customers including armed services and airlines both domestic and international. As a key member of the Avionics Test Engineering leadership team, the Senior Project Engineer ensures the successful execution of test solution projects from inception, through deployment to customers, as well as long-term support.

They will be passionate about performing data analysis for creating accurate bids and crafting attractive proposals.

    This is a multi-faceted role requiring versatility across a variety of tasks in a highly collaborative environment. The role requires working closely with engineers and leaders, at various locations around the globe, to ensure project success. Organizationally, the role reports to a Project Engineering Manager in the Avionics Test Engineering organization.

    What You Will Do :

  • Lead project technical execution and maintain performance metrics for decision making and continuous improvement purposes
  • Lead small engineering teams of various disciplines (EE, SW, ME, etc)
  • Manage project scope (requirements and change requests) ensuring it meets agreed to commitments
  • Generate and maintain project schedules with understood dependencies, deliveries, and critical path
  • Utilize Earned Value (EV) methods for managing project budget and schedule, including Cost Account Management (CAM) responsibilities
  • Ensure project meets quality expectations
  • Identify risks and opportunities and resolve them through proactive ownership
  • Prepare well-crafted presentations reporting project status to leadership teams
  • Develop Engineering estimates and proposals for potential projects and gaining organizational buy-in
  • Qualifications You Must Have:

  • 3+ years in at least one of the following engineering disciplines: systems, mechanical, electrical, or software
  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience

    Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.

    The salary range for this role is 77,000 USD - 163,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays.
