Our companies provide a spectrum of services and support which promote the ability of those we serve to live as independently as possible in the community.


Overview- Conducts research and evaluation on school wide curriculum needs through ongoing research and professional development attendance. Recommends and develops curricula and supplemental materials. Trains teaching staff, and provides support on curriculum resources, and newly adopted curriculum models. Consults with Education Director weekly to discuss department, staff, and curriculum status and needs.- Conducts curriculum based assessment with student upon admission, creates a plan for student educational experience, and schedules classes accordingly. Monitors progress based on IEP goals and assignments. Conducts record review and placement testing for residential students.
Collects weekly data of student success and behavioral gains.

Adjusts plan as necessary in collaboration with teachers, data will be considered to determine appropriate classroom placement.- Participates in discharge planning and assures that information is shared with receiving school district.

Assists in transition process as deemed by student need.- Attends weekly admissions meetings as requested. Collaborates with members of support team to discuss education concerns.

Prepares, updates, and distributes student education schedules as necessary.- Supports and mentors teachers and students in the classroom on instructional practices and curriculum assessment.- Supports teachers in the development of IEPs in relation to academic goals/services.

Seeks internal and external resources to address specific student needs her IEP team discussion (e.g. Speech, AT). Available as needed at IEP meetings.- Evaluates and recommends professional development opportunities. Promotes professional growth experiences (e.g. seminars and workshops)
.- Updates T.C.

Harris School Curriculum Handbook, and updates curriculum information on T.C.Harris School website.- Supervises and evaluates content teachers in the education department and student interns.- Plans and participates in T.C.

Harris in-services per the school calendar.- Maintains the curriculum budget and approves purchase orders/expenditures.
