We are a heavy duty manufacturer of plastic parts.


SUMMARY:

Has the authority and responsibility for defining and implementing shipping and storage of inventory, as well as the accountability for all areas dealing with the shipping and storage of inventory and managing employees in the Shipping department.

Employee also has the obligation and authority to complete all tasks assigned.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Shipping Supervisor is directly responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

  • Ensure that all company policies and procedures are followed.
  • This job regularly directs the work of four or more subordinates.
  • Ensure that all safety policies are followed and that commonsense prevails at all times.
  • Promote and foster team spirit and communication with coworkers and other departments.
  • Maintain and promote the QUALITY POLICY.
  • Maintain a neat appearance and work area at all times.
  • Devotes less than half of work time on activities unrelated to management.
  • Comes to work prepared with appropriate clothing.
  • Set an example for coworkers.
  • Discipline respectfully while maintaining professionalism.
  • Print scheduled shipping reports.
  • Shipping Supervisor has the authority to recommend hiring, firing, and pay treatment of subordinates.
  • Note parts that are currently in production in order to ship if necessary.
  • Attend production meetings at 8am.
  • Regularly and customarily must exercise discretionary power.
  • Teams up with HR to handle employee complaints and discipline.
  • Maintain ISO documents.
  • Prepare all documents related to shipping.
  • Maintain accurate IQMS information. Communicate as necessary with customers.
  • Communicate with customer service if shipments will be late.
  • Maintain vehicle logs and paperwork for shipping.
  • Oversee maintenance of company vehicles.
  • Maintain insurance and registration information of company vehicles.
  • Maintain accurate inventory of finished products and all other items in Warehouse
  • Check/verify inventory is in stock.
  • Meet with scheduling/review orders daily.
  • Create pick up tickets and shipping report.
  • Pull inventory & direct others to pull inventory for shipments.
  • Verify orders have been pulled and create packing slip.
  • Review for additional paperwork if necessary.
  • Call orders in to shipper or preferred carrier.
  • Prepare FedEx or UPS/request all confirmation numbers.
  • Load shipping trucks/verify paperwork is complete.
  • Operates electronic weigh counting scales.
  • Manually loads, unloads and repositions material. Maintains accurate inventory of items.
  • Operates within the current company computer evaluating, verifying and inputting data, while printing reports, documents and labels.
  • Keeps records, maintain logs, files reports to meet the needs of departments and internal customers.
  • Marks paperwork and cartons/pallets with accurate quantities, dates, unit of measure, charges, initials and notes where applicable.
  • Pulls, packs, wraps, stores and identifies product safely, accurately, and in a timely manner. Issues to Production as needed.
  • Conduct daily inventory, then report the status to Purchasing agent
  • Performs routine maintenance and checks of equipment, including Forklift Inspection Sheets.
  • MP Stage manage/segregate MP stage and put away.
  • Audit inventory to Trans log, note differences and update IQ.
  • Report for quarterly management meetings.
  • Review IQ to aid consolidating to FG & WIP in warehouse
  • Create new areas if consolidating is not an option.
  • Update IQMS for FG locations.
  • Communicate all discrepancies with purchasing and customer service.
  • Auto maintenance (log weekly). Review fleet for maintenance and safety (note any issues) and create a work order for maintenance.
  • Attend Management Review meetings.
  • Attend back order review meetings everyday 9am Tuesday and Friday/customer service.
  • Attend bimonthly Inventory meetings.
  • Receive materials on time. Cardboard material. Unload and verify paperwork prior to moving to locations (check for consolidation)
  • Accepts product from lines according to established orderly methods.
  • Receive UPS & FED Ex and confirm its destination and create packing slip for product.
  • Receiving Supervisor has the authority to recommend hiring, firing, and pay treatment of subordinates
  • Add transaction in IQMS to maintain inventory accuracy.
