GridIron IT is seeking a Security Engineer local to Washington DC.

Onsite 2/3 days a week in Washington, DC. DOJ Public Trust requirement- If the candidate does not have one, must be eligible to clear. TS or Secret can qualify for reciprocity. Veteran is a plus (not a requirement)

Ability to obtain TS or Secret can qualify for reciprocity

Position Summary:
Min 5 years' experience. BS or BA in a related field or relevant work experience. Federal experience with vulnerability management and patching. Understands FISMA requirements and has been a part of an ATO process for a Federal Agency. Has extensive engineering hands-on experience mitigating security vulnerabilities using tools like but not limited to, Tenable Nessus, Netwrix, Splunk, and SCCM. Has implemented DISA STIGs or similar on enterprise systems. Works well with a small team and is very proactive in taking initiative on the security posture of secure environment/platforms. Great communicator and is customer-facing.
Veteran is a plus (not a requirement)
One or more of the certs listed (must be active): CISSP, Security +, Tenable cert, Splunk cert, Palo Alto cert
Qualifications/Required Skills:

Develops and implements information assurance/security standards and procedures to include documentation.
Identifies and applies relevant security controls to systems based on FISMA system classification
Identifies, reports, and resolves/mitigates security violations.
Applies know-how to government common user systems, as well as to dedicated special purpose systems requiring specialized security features and procedures.
Performs analysis, design, and development of security features for system architectures.
Analyzes and defines security requirements for computer systems which may include databases, operating systems, and access devices.
Designs, develops, engineers, and implements solutions that meet security requirements.
Provides hands-on integration and implementation of enterprise system security solutions.
Analyzes general information assurance-related technical problems and provides engineering and technical support in solving these problems.
Performs vulnerability/risk analyses of computer systems and applications during all phases of the system development life cycle.
Conduct assessments of existing IT architecture for compliance with security requirements from applicable security frameworks (such as FISMA, ISO 27001, etc.).
Create documentation to support information system authorization/accreditation packages.
Provides continuous monitoring support for information systems and applications.
Develop IT architecture deliverables, specific to information security countermeasure implementations, for operational systems and systems under development.
Maintains Federal IT security policies, standards, and guidance
Hands-on experience installing and maintaining and antivirus solutions.
