GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Behavior Technician implements skills acquisition and behavior reduction protocols utilizing the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) with children with autism and similar disabilities in the home.
The Behavior Technician delivers interventions and collects data in accordance with the client's individualized treatment plan under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA).
REPORTS TO:
BCBA Supervisor, Director of Clinical Services
RESPONSBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- Implements 1:1 behavioral interventions with clients with autism utilizing a
- Implements interventions meant to reduce maladaptive behaviors and teach skills
- Implements skills acquisition targets aimed to teach language, communication,
- Collects accurate data on all skills acquisition and behavior reduction targets and
- Ensures accuracy and timely submission of all session notes, timesheets, and all
- Communicates effectively with all members of the client's treatment team regarding client progress.
- Receives ongoing supervision and readily accepts feedback and direction from a
- Engages in other work tasks as directed such as creating client materials and
- Upholds client dignity and maintains a safe and organized therapeutic environment for clients.
- Maintains client confidentiality and protects Protected Health Information (PHI) in
- Attends all required meetings and trainings as requested by Ascend Licensed
BASIC AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Able to assume various postures for extended periods of time (kneeling, squatting,
- Willingness to work with clients who exhibit a variety of challenging behaviors.
- Able to give and receive detailed communication both verbally and in writing.
- Access to reliable transportation.
- Undergo and pass a background check.
- Able to adhere to company policies and procedures and abide by the Behavior
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
- High School Diploma, required
- Bachelor's Degree, preferred
- Registered Behavior Technician Certification, preferred
- One year experience providing ABA therapy, preferred
- One year experience working with children with special needs, preferred

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Provide direct client care in 1:1 and group settings utilizing a combination of intensive teaching and natural environment training arrangements.
- Follow the prescribed behavioral skill acquisition and behavior reduction protocols.
- Collect, record, and summarize data on observable client behavior.
- Assist with parent and caregiver training in line with client's individualized treatment and behavior reduction protocols.
- Effectively communicate with parents and caregivers regarding client progress as
- Utilize safe and appropriate handling procedures when working with clients.
- Maintain client confidentiality.
- Assist in preparing client materials as instructed.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work and therapy environment.
- Maintain and acquire technical knowledge by attending required trainings.
- Perform other job duties as needed/necessary
