Our main practice is located in Portsmouth, NH with additional offices in York, ME and Dover, NH (Opening in Fall of 2024).


Position Summary


Become a valued member of our dynamic team as an X-Ray Technician, where your main responsibility is to provide exceptional X-ray services to assist our providers during patient consultations.

Your duties will include capturing high-quality images customized to each provider's specifications, whether they're treating new patients, following up on cases, or caring for post-operative individuals.

Your commitment to accuracy and confidentiality is crucial for ensuring smooth patient care within our orthopedic practice.

Position Requirements

Licenses or Certificates:
NH Radiologic Technologist Licensure, ARRT Certification


Education, vocational training, and experience:

  • Associate degree or equivalent working experience
  • Intermediate to advanced computer and data entry skills

Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to follow protocols for equipment setup, patient positioning, and documentation for accurate Xray imaging.
  • Communicate effectively with patients to gather medical history and collaborate with healthcare providers.
  • Proficiency in operating Xray equipment and Quantum Xray systems, adjusting settings for optimal imaging.
  • Provide compassionate care, ensuring patient comfort and safety during imaging procedures.

Responsibilities:

The X-Ray Technician's tasks include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Initiate morning tube warm-up following manufacturer's protocol.
  • Evaluate patient charts to determine Xray requisites: gather pain areas from new patients, review prior notes for followups, and adhere to postoperative protocols.
  • Record patient data in A4 and Phoenix systems; indicate completed Xrays on encounter forms.
  • Navigate Quantum Xray computer to select correct patient and body part; arrange examination room accordingly.
  • Configure appropriate Xray settings; address pregnancy concerns and provide lead shielding.
  • Clearly denote body side for accuracy and safety.
  • Verify patient's selfstanding ability; provide support devices as necessary.
  • Arrange accommodations for patients unable to stand independently.
  • Update Phoenix status to Xray waiting room; position patient and present Xrays to provider per preference.
  • Compile and crossreference surgery lists from A4 and Phoenix; manage schedule changes.
  • Ensure availability of required images; procure if absent.
  • Log incoming CDs in A4 and Phoenix; organize in department drawers.
  • Produce CDs for requested xrays; distribute as directed.
  • Track and dispose of CDs after two years.
  • Retrieve and tabulate monthly exam data; compute error rates and total departmental images.
  • Schedule mandated calibration and checks; communicate with providers regarding maintenance needs.

Pay:
$ $32.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
