    Job Summary

    La Canada Unified is seeking walk-on assistant coaches for the high school girls' softball team. No coaching experience is required.

    The assistant coach may be asked to support and assist the girls' softball team with year-round training, including summers, for practice and strength training.

    Requirements / Qualifications

    Application Procedure: 1. Current LCUSD employees need only to submit an interest letter and coaching resume. Outside candidates may submit an electronic application through the posting on EdJoin ).

    The application should include a coaching resume, references with contact information, and at least three (3) recent letters of reference/recommendation.

    A cover letter and/or coaching portfolio are welcome but not required.

    Salary:

    The stipend for a paid assistant coach position is $2,710.39 annually, paid as a lump sum at the conclusion of the competitive season.

    Additional compensation is paid at a daily rate for the length of time the team participates in CIF finals. The daily rate is calculated by dividing the regular stipend by the number of days in the regular season.

    These positions do not meet the eligibility requirements to participate in the District's health and welfare benefits

    Current first aid and CPR certifications


    Work Calendar:
    The competitive season occurs during the spring athletics season, which is approximately March through May.

    The assistant coach may be asked to support and assist the varsity or junior varsity teams with year-round training, including summers, for practice and strength training.

    The chosen candidate will assume coaching responsibilities as soon as clearance is confirmed from a background check, tuberculosis skin test reading and completion of the onboarding process.
