- Serve as the chemistry leader for multiple exploratory and hit-to-lead drug discovery programs and be capable of and willing to guide selected programs through lead optimization and candidate selection
- Design and implement medicinal chemistry strategies to achieve program, department, and corporate goals
- Design and oversee the synthesis of compounds aimed at modulating the activity of transcription factors
- Effectively communicate medicinal chemistry strategies to a diverse cross-section of colleagues
- You have a PhD degree in organic or medicinal chemistry, and at least 6-10 years of drug discovery experience in a pharmaceutical/biotechnology company, or a Masters degree in organic/medicinal chemistry and at least 10 years of experience in a pharmaceutical/biotechnology company
- You have experience interpreting and integrating biochemical, cellular, and ADME data and implementing medicinal chemistry strategies to advance chemical matter through all phases of drug discovery
- You have experience managing CRO chemistry teams
- You have experience with covalent modifiers
- You are a creative thinker and enjoy solving challenging medicinal chemistry problems
- You have a record of accomplishment in medicinal chemistry as evidenced by publications and patent applications in the field
- You have the capacity to manage ambiguity and uncertainty, within a fast growing, dynamic and risk-taking environment with resiliency, higher order multitasking skills and self-motivation.
- You have strong communication skills, both written and verbal, especially around delivering compelling scientific narratives attuned to a particular audience.
- You enjoy fostering a culture of innovation.

Flare Therapeutics is a biotechnology company pioneering a new therapeutic space with a novel approach to decipher the biology of transcription factors to develop small molecule medicines.
Based on insights from the seminal work of its scientific founders, Flare's team has uncovered 'switch sites,' druggable regions that are key targets for transcription factor regulation, to address mutations that cause disease.
Flare's drug discovery efforts to target switch sites has rapidly advanced, resulting in an emerging pipeline of research programs that address well-validated genetically-defined transcription factors, initially focused on precision oncology with future potential in neurology, rare genetic disorders, immunology and inflammation.
