    YOUR ROLE & RESPONSIBILITY

    As Product Owner Embedded Finance you are responsible for organizing, prioritizing, and evaluating the work of the agile product development team. In this role you maximize the value of the product and ensure that the right things are being developed.

    Knowledge & Experience:

    • Deep understanding of financial products, services, regulations, and market trends. This knowledge will be instrumental in guiding product development and ensuring compliance with industry standards.
    • Expertise in payment systems, transaction processing, and card network regulations is essential. This includes familiarity with payment industry standards, PCI-DSS compliance, and various payment methods such as credit, debit, and prepaid cards.
    1. Experience in implementing regulatory requirements in the financial industry, such as PSD2, GDPR, and KYC/AML regulations.
    2. Assessing and mitigating risks related to fraud, security breaches, and financial regulations. Experience in implementing risk management strategies and working with compliance teams.
    3. Know-how in API integration, open banking principles, and partnership management will be beneficial for successful product delivery.

    Main responsibilities:

    Supports overall day-to-day operations of office management functions.

    • Representing the interests of the customer: as a Product Owner, you are the representative of stakeholders, clients, and management in technical matters. Your task is to consider the interests and needs of all parties involved and ensure that the team creates maximum value.
    • Managing the product backlog: you collect the requirements of all stakeholders for the product. These requirements are converted into tasks and sorted by priority. The Product Owner decides which tasks should be worked on next.
    • Ensure that product features and roadmap align with regulatory requirements and collaborate with legal and compliance teams to ensure adherence.
    • Collaboration with the development team: you work closely with the agile product development team to realize the product vision. Together with the developers, you translate the requirements into functional solutions.
    • Facilitate sprint review meetings to showcase completed work to stakeholders, gather feedback, and validate that the delivered product increments meet expectations.
    • Release management: you make the decision about when developed product components (increments) will be released. This requires balancing the requirements of stakeholders with the technical capabilities and of the development team.
    • Communication and coordination: you are in regular communication with all stakeholders to ensure that product development meets expectations. This includes clients, company representatives, and other relevant stakeholders.

    List of tasks

    • Incorporating feature requests into the product roadmap
    • Maintaining and prioritizing the backlog
    • Developing user stories and defining acceptance criteria
    • Setting sprint goals
    • Writing acceptance tests
    • Planning releases and upgrades
    • Tracking work progress and addressing production issues during sprints
    • Analyzing (end-)user preferences and requests
    • Refining agile methodology based on results and stakeholder feedback
    • Tracking industry trends

    To be successful in this role, you should have experience as a Product Owner or in a similar position in product management and be familiar with agile methods. Additionally, you should have practical experience in managing all phases of the product lifecycle.

    REQUISITE SKILLS/COMPETENCIES:

    • Education: Bachelor's degree in relevant fields (e.g., computer science, engineering), coupled with significant experience in product management or related roles.
    • Communication Skills: clear and effective communication to convey product vision, requirements, and priorities to stakeholders and team members.
    • Analytical Thinking: ability to analyze data, market trends, and user feedback to make informed decisions and prioritize product features.
    • Agile Proficiency: strong understanding and application of agile methodologies (e.g., Scrum, Kanban) for efficient product development.
    • Stakeholder Management: excellent leadership skills to motivate teams, manage relationships with stakeholders, and drive product success.
