    The Meadowood Spa is a restorative environment where holistically tailored experiences are created by our highly trained wellness professionals with intuitive touch and nurturing care to inspire sustainable life change.

    Position Summary:
    Meadowood Estheticians are skillful practitioners who also advocate healthy lifestyles promoting total wellbeing. Estheticians address guest concerns about their skin in a nurturing, relaxed and safe environment while utilizing exemplary knowledge and expertise to provide a professional, purposeful and skilled treatment. The Esthetician supports fellow staff members by working collaboratively and professionally. Providers will also be responsible for offering suggestions for whole body wellness, homecare and future services. Estheticians agree to conduct their practices in an acceptable, ethical, and professional manner. They must be well spoken and gracious while working in a luxury setting.

    Major Responsibilities & Work Activities:

    Average % of Time

    35%: Provide spa services to guests in a timely, courteous and proficient manner. Esthetician will escort guests to and from various areas of the spa and attend to any immediate needs throughout the Spa visit. Assist in providing information to any inquiries, helps to coordinate all guest requests for services and maintain impeccable cleanliness of the Spa.

    20%: Ensure guest comfort and safety throughout the treatment. Maintain professional ethics while ensuring personalized service is provided to each guest so they feel their needs are met.

    15%: Have strong retail salesmanship as it relates to professional skincare and homecare recommendations for guests

    10 %: Maintain work area with necessary supplies. Ensure room is immaculate at all times (tables draped, counters and products clean and stocked) as well as cleanliness of all other spa areas including locker rooms. Estheticians may also assist with product inventory for professional product.

    10%: Assist fellow associates with daily operations to support healthy teamwork and contribute to the success of the spa.

    10%: All spa employees should be impeccably groomed at all times following grooming standards.

    Operations & Team Support

    • Maintains order and cleanliness of supply rooms, dispensary and linen rooms
    • Attends on-going training and classes.
    • Adheres to departmental policies and procedures.
    • Adheres to resort policies and procedures.
    • Assists other therapists in treatment set-up and break-down
    • Demonstrates respect and support of Spa Desk staff
    • Completes all personal administrative work to support treatments, stand-by time and gratuities
    • Performs other tasks as needed

    Personal Characteristics Required:

    • Able to relate to and interact with highly accomplished individuals such as celebrities, business leaders and social leaders
    • Acts professionally and ethically under all circumstances
    • Is attentive and compassionate toward every guest, whether the first or last of the day
    • Demonstrates patience and understanding with guests and co-workers
    • Must be team oriented
    • Able to anticipate the needs and expectations of guests and other staff members
    • Punctual
    • Consistent with follow through with requests

    Experience Required:

    • Minimum two years of luxury spa experience working as a massage therapist desired

    Education, Certifications, Licenses, Registrations:

    • High School or equivalent education required.
    • Current California State Esthetician Licenses

    Special Skills/Abilities Required:

    • Waxing including Brazilians

    Communication Skills/Interpersonal Skills

    • Exceptional skill in articulating and communicating professionally with people of all social and economic levels
    • Ability to actively listen to guest needs and requests
    • Ability to work cohesively within a team environment with flexibility and respect

    Mathematical Skills

    Basic mathematical skills (addition, subtraction, division and multiplication) for computation of commissions

    Reasoning Ability

    • Ability to be innovative in problem solving situations such as having to change a given schedule without notice or assisting other team members.
    • Ability to reason through treatment related issues

    Physical Demands of Position:

    • Able to utilize proper ergonomics within treatment room at all timesble to stand for up to 5 hours
    • Able to reach consistently out in front of your body as well as overhead
    • No prior reported injuries that would interfere with working conditions
    • Able to lift and transport linens and portable massage tables weighing up to 45 lbs

    Working Conditions:

    • Softly lit treatment room with natural lighting with spa music provided
    • Exposure to aromatherapy products
    • Treatment room temperatures vary with air control
    • Break area in lower floor of spa
