    Middlesex Community College seeks to fill part-time adjunct science (Chemistry, Biology, and Physics) faculty positions for in-person lecture and laboratory courses beginning the fall 2023 semester.

    The College's adjunct science instructors are knowledgeable and creative professionals who have a demonstrated commitment to working with the College's diverse students and community.

    The College is committed to hiring creative and knowledgeable individuals that have expertise in this area.
    Introduction to Chemistry, College Chemistry I & II, General Biology I, Microbiology, Physics I & II (non-science majors)
    Develop and use assessment strategies that maximize the developmental learning process and measure student learning outcomes
    Participate in the end-of-the-term grading session of a common final assessment
    Fulfill terms of the faculty contract as set out in the Agreement between the Board of Higher Education and the Massachusetts Community College Council/Massachusetts Teachers Association

    Master's degree in Chemistry, Biology, Physics, or a closely related field
    Classroom teaching of high school or college science courses
    Demonstrated commitment to diversity, continuous professional improvement, developmental education, inclusive pedagogies, and use of technology to support student learning
    Willingness to work collegially with a diverse body of faculty and staff
    Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the role of the community college in higher education.

    Experience with equity-minded work and/or understanding of individuals of diverse identities such as race, ethnicity, socioeconomic level, sexual orientation, veterans, and individuals with different academic preparation levels and varying physical and learning abilities.

    Bilingual skills a plus

    Salary Range :
    DCE Adjunct Faculty are paid in accordance with the DCE Step Levels provided in the Collective Bargaining Agreement

    Hours :
    Adjunct faculty can teach up to three courses per semester
