    Family Health Centers of San Diego (FHCSD) is looking to offer an internship opportunity to high school students

    u


    nder the direct supervision of an assigned facilities supervisor in learning and executing various tasks related to crafts/trades disciplines that maintain FHCSD physical facilities.


    Responsibilities:
    Assist, learn, understand, and execute the following tasks found in working on/as:
    Maintenance Helper

    Carpenter

    Drywall

    Masonry

    Lighting and entry-level electrical

    Plumbing Helper

    Painter Helper

    Landscape Helper

    Train on and learn proper techniques for performing maintenance and repair work on physical facilities and related equipment usage.


    Train on and learn the proper use of maintenance tools and storage of those tools and supplies required to complete maintenance and repair work.

    Assist with miscellaneous tasks in cleaning and clearing modified, repaired, or construction areas.

    Perform other duties as assigned.


    Requirements:
    High School Senior Preferred

    Some experience in building repairs and maintenance. A desire to be in the facilities business.


    Current or recent student in a recognized training program related to building repairs, facilities maintenance, or maintenance of physical facilities.

    Must be in good academic standing

    Ability to work well in a team-based environment

    Demonstrated ability to be culturally sensitive and respect diversity.

    Ability to follow both written and oral instructions in English.

    Intermediate interpersonal and customer service skills.

    Basic computer literacy, i.e., use systems to manage and schedule appointments, tracking maintenance requests, etc
