    Family Medicine Research - Faculty
    Rush University Medical Center

    The Department of Family Medicine at Rush University Medical Center is recruiting experienced Research Faculty to advance its research core. Faculty in this new core will conduct translational studies and health services research to improve primary care and enhance health equity. Two full-time positions are open. The Chair of the Department is a successful NIH-funded investigator with multiple behavioral clinical trials addressing chronic disease health inequities. We are seeking individuals who will conduct innovative, rigorous, grant funded research, engage in scholarly activities (peer reviewed publications, presentations, etc.), and can mentor other faculty members.

    Rush University partners with the University of Chicago and other local health systems and universities in the Institute for Translational Medicine ), a NIH translational sciences center. With DePaul University, Rush established the Center for Community Health Equity ) to advance public health and reduce health disparities through community-engaged inquiry, scholarship, and service. Rush is also a participant in the PCORI-funded Chicago-Area Patient Centered Outcomes Research Network, or CAPriCORN ). These networks, combined with Rushs own internal culture of interprofessional collaboration, make this a rich environment in which talented researchers can thrive.

    Ideal candidates would be Family Physicians, but we also welcome doctoral-level candidates with training in Behavioral Sciences, Translational Basic Science, Public Health, Social Sciences, Communication, Health Services Research, Bioinformatics, or other related fields.
