Kindergarten Teacher Assistant (.5 FTE)


Reports to: Principal


Summary: The role of the Kindergarten Teacher Assistant is to assist students in the classroom.


Key Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Supports students in large and small groups to reinforce learning
  • Assists teacher in implementing reinforcement strategies
  • Communicates student concerns to the teacher
  • Supervises students during non-class time
  • Assists with classroom routine and management
  • Serves as a resource for substitute teachers
  • Participates in relevant workshops
  • Maintains confidentiality
  • Leads class when lead teacher is unavailable
  • Assists in implementing behavior plans
  • Performs assigned job duties

Classification: ESPAS Level 7
Unit Position Schedule: 182 days (.5 FTE)

Salary: Based on collective bargaining agreement
