Description
The Line Lead reports to the Production Manager in a food processing environment.

It oversees their production line, food safety, completing daily production quotas, and adherence to all policies, procedures, and protocols within the department.

Open communication with employees staffed on their line increases morale and overall efficiency.

Utilizing the Famous system to create Run Numbers, printing pallet tags for Repacked products and consolidating partial pallets in the system, keeping track of percentages per Run Number and adjusting as needed, Inputting material usage for each Work Order run, and confirming that all Repacked pallets have been given location in the system.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Verify, review, and distribute work orders with material handling and quality control personnel.
  • Assign line personnel to their positions for the day and get the line operational on time.
  • Identify problems/bottlenecks in production processes and work to resolve issues.
  • Use the Famous operating system to track inventory movements within the facility.
  • Monitor team members to ensure employees return to the line from lunch breaks and leave when work is completed.
  • Keep in communication with both Forklift and OG Operators to confirm that the correct fruit is loaded onto the line and the grading parameters set are correct.
  • Upon Work Order completion, all material (film, netting, pallets, etc.) should be entered into the Famous system in the quantities used (Orders will then be submitted to the Repack Office for confirmation).
  • Complete the pallet quota for all Work Orders and confirm that all pallets have a location at the end of the production run.
  • Verifying that Run Numbers are within an acceptable yield percentage and adjusting as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:


  • 1 year of experience in a lead or supervisory role preferred.
  • Excellent math skills (must be able to add, subtract, multiply and divide)
  • Highly developed critical thinking/problem solving skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fastpaced environment.
  • Ability to work, develop and maintain ongoing relationships with different levels of Management within the organization.
  • Knowledge of Famous operating system preferred.
  • High School diploma or GED
  • Weekends required as needed.

Competencies:


  • Fluency in written and spoken English and Spanish (preferred)
  • Understanding of safety guidelines and strict adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
  • Regular attendance and punctuality on a daily basis
  • Ability to lift, push, pull, and grasp up to 50 lbs. while standing and kneeling.
  • Potential need to work flexible hours and be available to respond on short notice.

Physical Requirements:


  • Frequently required to sit.
  • Ability to stand for long periods.
  • Frequently required to utilize hand and finger dexterity.
  • Continually required to speak and listen.
  • Ability to work in a cold environment (32o 40oF).
This position is full-time/non-exempt. The hourly rate is $20.00.
