Description
We are seeking a Disability Case Manager to join our Coughlin team in Ottawa.

The Disability Case Manager (6-month term) will:
- Review disability claims to determine fitness for work and ongoing eligibility and entitlement to benefits based on medical documentation, functional abilities, job demands, and contractual provisions
- In collaboration with the client and treatment providers, develop and implement case management plans focused on recovery and timely return to work
- Conduct regular assessments to understand the client's ongoing functional abilities, recovery, and treatment needs
- Determine workreadiness and develop suitable RTW programs
- Identify barriers impacting recovery or RTW and coordinate expedited health care or rehabilitation services
- Manage cases until return to work or claim resolution
- Review forms, supporting documentation, data entry, generated reports, eligibility of benefits, payment calculations and associated cheques, and taxation reports for completion and accuracy
- Calculate claim payments, following up on over or underpayments, and adjusting payments or arranging for the recovering of funds
- Prepare T4A summaries for government bodies and other taxation reports when required

- To maintain high confidentiality
- Registered professional designation / certification or working towards is an asset: (RN, RPN, Kin., RRP or other related healthcare background; Certified Disability Management Practitioner / Certified Return to Work Coordinator
- Minimum three years experience in Disability Management / Claims Adjudication / Return-ToWork Initiatives / STD Claims Management
- Strong understanding of medical and mental health conditions and treatment, and return to work
- Computer literacy
- MS Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
