    Job Description

    **SUMMARY**: This position is responsible for purchasing and replenishing designated stock items and maintaining adequate inventory levels to cover projected regular and advertised sales. This position is also charged with providing timely and quality inventory in order to maximize customer satisfaction.

    **RELATIONSHIPS:** The Stock Buyer position reports to the Purchasing Manager and works closely with other members of the Purchasing team. This position interacts regularly with other internal business units including Sales, Finance, and Distribution. The Stock Buyer is also responsible for maintaining positive business relationships with both internal and external customers and vendors.

    **ESSENTIAL DUTIES**

    Achieves planned inventory levels, service levels and inventory turns

    Holds vendors accountable for improving turns and service level results

    Purchases stock judiciously while utilizing available technology and information to maintain adequate item stock levels and to support daily sales and promotions

    Keeps the Purchasing Manager informed verbally and in writing of activities and problems within assigned area of responsibility; refers matters beyond limits of authority to appropriate parties

    Maintains the integrity of purchasing variables within SAP

    Expedites open orders to maintain in-stock position and service levels

    Reviews overdue POs and updates SAP due dates to reflect the most accurate estimated date of arrival

    Resolves PO Receipt discrepancies with vendors and DC associates as needed

    Finds alternate sources or substitutes items to avoid long out-of-stock periods

    Identifies slow moving, overstock, and discontinued items and reacts on a timely basis to reduce company ownership through sales accountability, transfers, and returns to vendors

    Works with vendors to review new and existing items, returns requests, delivery, packaging compliance problems, and merchandising priorities

    Resolves shipping, receiving, stocking, and pricing problems with Accounting and Distribution

    Communicates with Sales and regarding item status, pricing, and quality issues

    Assists in training of new associates as needed

    Performs other duties as assigned

    External Qualifications

    **REQUIRED**: High School diploma/GED equivalent

    with 3 years of related working experience in a Purchasing or Production

    Control environment OR equivalent combination of college education and

    experience. Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office products

    (specifically Excel, Word, and PowerPoint). Strong analytical, attention to

    detail, organizational skills and the ability to problem solve, multitask, and prioritize

    work. Capable of working independently and as part of a team to provide

    superior customer service to internal and external customers. Excellent

    communication, and time management skills.

    **PREFERRED:** Previous SAP and/or Bachelors Degree with a

    major in Supply Chain, Operations, Business, or related field with 1-3 years of

    related experience in supply chain operations (specifically replenishment

    and/or purchasing).

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Required minimum knowledge, skills, education/training, experience, and physical obligations:

    High School diploma or GED with 3 years of progressively responsible working experience

    Excellent analytical, written, and verbal communication skills

    Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office products (specifically Excel and Word)

    Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills

    Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment

    Ability to analyze data and identify root causes

    Capable of working both independently and as part of a team to provide superior customer satisfaction to both internal and external customers

    Must be detailed oriented and well organized

    Ability to adhere to Edward Don & Companys Standards of Conduct policy

    Preferred minimum knowledge, skills, education/training, experience, and physical obligations:

    Previous SAP experience/exposure highly preferred.

    Bachelors Degree from an accredited institution with a major in Supply Chain, Operations, Business, or related field with 1-3 years of related experience in supply chain operations (specifically replenishment and/or purchasing).
