Description:

Position Summary
The Research Associate I will be participating in translational Dry Eye & Ocular Graft Versus Host Disease research.

The Research Associate I will assist the Principal Investigator with clinical trials management, IRB submissions, and conduct literature searches and writing for Ocular Graft Versus Host Disease research.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assist Principal Investigator with manuscript and grant preparation and submissions.
  • Help in obtaining, completing, and submitting appropriate forms for regulatory approvals.
  • Assist Principal Investigator with performing surveys, interviews, observations or uses other methods according to established research protocols.
  • Analyze and generate imaging and history data from recruited patients seen in the Dry Eye & ocular GVHD Clinic.
  • Collaborate with Ophthalmology's Clinical Research Coordinators to execute details of studies per sponsor agreement.
  • Conduct literature searches and writing for Ocular Graft Versus Host Disease
  • Order research supplies and maintain inventories and equipment
  • Maintain detailed records of results and prepare written reports.
  • Maintain and process required paperwork.
  • Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in social science or related field required.
  • Knowledge of fundamental research concepts, practices and procedures.
  • Entry level knowledge of research methods.
Preferred Qualifications- Bilingual Spanish/English

  • 2 years experience in Ophthalmology research and/or clinical setting preferred.
  • Proficiency in ophthalmology terminologies and methodologies preferred.
