Job Description
This is a multi-level posting.
Candidates may be considered for any of the posted levels, depending on their level of experience and depth of expertise.
The financial analyst-valuation evaluates potential investments in accordance with organization objectives.This position develops, maintains and validates detailed financial modeling and assessment reports using available data in support of investment activity, and performs other business analysis to identify impacts and risks to the business strategy.
Responsibilities
Provide support to upper management in Berkshire Hathaway Energy business development projects and potential investment opportunities.
Activities may include analyzing acquisition and investment opportunities consistent with company strategy, conducting market research and analysis, and supporting data gathering and database maintenance.
Position is responsible for maintaining and validating detailed financial modeling and mentoring others on standardized evaluation methodologies. Other day-to-day duties include ensuring data integrity, participating in data quality control and validation, and producing requirements documents for various business development activities %)Assist MidAmerican Energy Company departments with special projects including research, gathering and validating data, modeling and economic analysis and summarizing results for management %)
Develop metrics and reporting, prepare and present data, gather and maintain project information for multiple projects %)
Perform additional responsibilities as requested or assigned. (5%)
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in business finance and accounting or related field. (Typically six years of related, progressive work experience would be needed for candidates applying for this position who do not possess a bachelor's degree.)
A master's degree is preferred.
One to two years of demonstrated financial and/or market portfolio evaluation project work or similar experience is required for the financial analyst I level.
Two or more years of related work experience or at least one year full-time experience and demonstrated commensurate successful complex project completion with validated results is required for the financial analyst II level.
A self-starter with a demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
Ability to interface with executive management.
Demonstrated familiarity with fixed income, equity, corporate finance and other financial markets.
Advanced software skills in Microsoft Office products including Excel, Word, Access and PowerPoint.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and projects concurrently.
Ability to maintain confidentiality of information.
