About This Opportunity:

CareATC is currently looking for a PRN Medical Assistant with strong phlebotomy skills to support various wellness events within a market.

Travel is required and mileage is reimbursed between health centers.


Essential Job Responsibilities:


  • Prepares equipment to efficiently collect blood products.
  • Performs venipuncture, arterial and capillary punctures on patients as directed by physician. Follows medical practice protocols related to safety, infection control, and confidentiality. Conducts laboratory tests on specimens. Enters data into computer.
  • Assists donor before, during, and after donation.
  • Cleans/sterilizes equipment, instruments, and work area following safety, cleanliness, and infection control procedures.
  • Inventories supplies and places orders to ensure adequate supplies for procedures.
  • Assists with PHA processing of patient books
  • Other Duties as assigned

Education:


  • High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED)
  • Medical Assistant certification or diploma from an accredited MA program
  • Or 1 year relevant work experience or on the job training in lieu of certification or diploma
  • National certification through American Medical Technologists as a registered phlebotomy technician preferred

Experience:


  • Minimum one year of recent experience in a medical setting is strongly preferred
  • Minimum one year or phlebotomy experience required
  • Must possess a current BLS, CPR certification and current health records with the appropriate documentation for immunizations to work in the health care field (hepatitis B and tuberculosis).
