The Director of Social Services Agency plays a crucial role in caring for individuals with developmental disabilities. We provides essential support and services to individuals, enabling them to live independent and fulfilling lives.

The Director is responsible for overseeing and managing the entire operations of the local agency, ensuring that staff and participants receive the best oversight possible.


RESPONSIBILITIES - Expectations will vary.

Leadership and Management:


  • The Director is responsible for leading and managing a large and diverse team of office and support staff. They develop strategies and policies to ensure the provision of highquality services and promote a positive work environment. Provide leadership and guidance to agency staff and participants, fostering a collaborative and inclusive environment.
  • Set clear objectives, performance standards, and expectations for all operational policies, procedures and activities.
  • Develop and implement strategies to enhance operational efficiency and improve processes.
  • Oversee the recruitment, training, and development of agency personnel, ensuring they have the necessary skills and resources to perform their roles effectively.
  • Collaborate with other offices, and stakeholders to align operational activities with overall agency goals and objectives.
  • Adaptability and flexibility to everchanging business responsibilities.

Developmental Disabilities Expertise:


  • The Director possesses a strong understanding of developmental disabilities, including their causes, manifestations, and available interventions.
  • They stay informed about the latest developments in the field, staying updated with the latest research and practices.

Operational Management:


  • Direct and oversee daytoday operations, ensuring adherence to agency policies and procedures.
  • Monitor and review program performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing necessary changes.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and best practices.
  • Identify and implement new technologies or processes that improve operational efficiency.

Case Management:


  • The Director plays a crucial role in case management, working closely with management staff, field staff, Regional Center, participants, and their families to develop individualized care plans.
  • They assess needs, identify service gaps, and coordinate with other professionals to ensure appropriate care.

Resource Development:


  • The Director is responsible for identifying and securing resources to support the agency's operations.
  • They collaborate with community organizations, government agencies, and foundations to secure funding, grants, and partnerships that benefit the participants.

Training and Professional Development:


  • The Director ensures that staff receive adequate training to update their skills and enhance their ability to provide effective care.
  • They organize workshops, seminars, and conferences to enhance staff competence and deliver highquality services.

Quality Assurance:
