SUMMARY

Supporting the industrial security department and Department of Defense (DoD) security program by maintaining Cherokee Nation Businesses (CNB) computer databases with essential security information.

Collecting and organizing data in a cohesive manner for use in the Security Information Management System (SIMS) or similar personnel tracking databases.

Managing security clearance processing, security education, and contract management.


Assisting in ensuring proper personnel security procedures are followed in alignment with 32 CFR Part 117, National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM), Intelligence Community and Government Regulations, Directives, and all applicable Cherokee Nation Businesses (CNB) policies and procedures.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Includes the following:
  • Assists in managing the corporate security program, administering consistent corporate security policies and procedures across relevant entities.
  • Supports the review and management of Contract Security Classification Specification (DD254) and Program Classification Guides.
  • Conducts security self-inspections, applies risk mitigation methodologies, supports customer assessments, and implements security measures to meet requirements.
  • Assists in reviewing Department of Defense (DoD) and energy regulations and any updates and/or changes related to industrial security, security clearance compliance, or other governmental security compliance requirements as assigned.
  • Assists with the administration of the Joint Personnel Adjudication System (JPAS), Access Commander, or similar database, including account management, preparation, initiation and tracking of clearance requests, conducting security briefings, and maintaining security education programs.
  • Conducts periodic reviews of subsidiary operations and activities in accordance with National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM) and National Industrial Security Program (NISP) requirements for all cleared companies.
  • Assists in coordinating with external security reviews by Defense Security Services (DSS) and other regulatory agencies.
  • Assists in the administration of physical and visitor control functions and requests.
  • Provides accurate and timely responses to employees' security inquiries and guidance.
  • Supports other security and non-security functions to ensure compliance with the security program.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY/MANAGEMENT AUTHORITY
No supervisory or management authority.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's Degree in criminal justice, business administration, or related field and 2 to 4 years of security or government contracting experience or an equivalent combination of formal education and security or government contracting experience.

  • Ability to research information, identify trends, propose solutions, and present findings.
  • Ability to identify alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
  • Must hold a current Secret Security clearance and the ability to obtain a Top Secret Security clearance.
  • Requires US citizenship.
