    Description

    Director/AD of Data Engineering

    Overview:

    We are seeking a Data Engineering Lead to join our global data engineering team. The candidate will play a crucial role in developing data solutions for functions including Data Science, Translational Medicine, and Research.

    Responsibilities:

    • Design and manage ETL pipelines for large-scale scientific data integration into cloud-based repositories.
    • Lead a data engineering team
    • Automate workflows using tools like Airflow, AWS Step Functions, and Databricks Workflows.
    • Develop and maintain databases for various scientific data and ensure their integration with analysis applications and AI tools.
    • Coordinate with external partners, including CRO's and technology vendors, to enhance data engineering capabilities.
    • Establish best practices and frameworks within the team, promoting optimal use of cloud services and tools.

    Requirements:

    • BS/MS in Computer Science, Bioinformatics, or related field with 12+ or a PhD with 8+ years of experience.
    • Expertise in ETL processes, automation, and workflow management tools and CI/CD
    • Proficient in Python, with a strong grasp of libraries like pandas.
    • Familiarity with data architectures like Lakehouse and understanding of data management paradigms such as data fabrics.
    • Knowledge of clinical data standards, GxP compliance, and data quality and governance tools.
    • Experience with AWS cloud services and modern software development practices.
    • Experience with Translational, Genomics or Clinical based data sets.
    • Experience with LIMS & ELN, and GxP
