Responsibilities:


  • Firstline supervisor to team members and provide coaching, performance reviews, regular 1 on 1 meetings, and other administrative functions.
  • Interface with Site Leader to ensure team performance aligns with customer expectations
  • Drive operational excellence by strategically managing resources as well as identifying areas of improvement.
  • Work in accordance with all regulations and requirements for each customer site and/or department following GxP guidelines for ways of working and process documentation.
  • Ensure adequate planning and coordination of team coverage to meet customer needs and achieve established operational metrics (e.g., PTO, Sick)
  • Act as a liaison between onsite staff and management to escalate critical issues.
  • Facilitate regular LSC meetings/huddles
  • Interview and hire all new LSC team members
  • Plan and execute continuous improvement projects within the LSC team, including mentoring and assisting with 5S (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain) principles.
  • Collaborate with Employee Health and Safety (EHS) to ensure a high level of safety is maintained in the lab.
  • Maintain training and compliance for their entire team in areas of health and safety, security, environmental and operational aspects of daily activities in the working environment.

Basic Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field and 1+ years' experience in a customer facing role within a scientific environment with 1+ year(s) in a mentoring, coaching, or lead role OR
  • Associate degree in relevant field and 3+ years' experience in a customer facing role within a scientific environment with 1+ year(s) in a mentoring, coaching, or lead role OR
  • High School Diploma with 5+ years of experience in a customer facing role within a scientific environment with 1+ year(s) in a mentoring, coaching, or lead role.

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Certification or Bachelor's degree in relevant field (Project Management, 6Sigma, Business Administration / Management, Supply Chain)
  • 5+ years of experience in a customer facing role within a regulated environment
  • 1+ year(s) in a leadership or supervisory role leading others and delivering administrative functions (i.e., Performance reviews, disciplinary actions, etc.)
  • Experience working in a research laboratory environment.
  • Certification in 5S (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain) principles
  • Working knowledge of Environmental Health and Safety regulatory requirements.
  • Working knowledge of GLP/GxP.

Working Environment:


  • Must be able to work in a laboratory, controlled environments requiring personal protective equipment (e.g., lab coat, safety glasses, etc.) in laboratory.
  • Job pace may be fast and job completion demands may be high.
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position more than 25% of the time
  • The person needs to occasionally move between labs, corridors, adjoining rooms, and buildings onsite. Frequently operate on instruments, objects, tools or controls, which will require regularly bending, squatting, stretching and reaching in order to perform in a service function.
  • Occasionally move or lift up to 25 pounds (potential for occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds).
  • Specific vision abilities required by this position include without limitation, the ability to observe details at close range distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus in order to perform the essential service functions of this position.
  • Occasionally operates a computer and other office machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer.
  • Employee may be required to handle hazardous waste according to local, state, and federal regulations. Duties may include identifying, handling, generating, accumulating, storing and labeling hazardous waste.
  • Potential risk to labbased hazards including but not limited to extreme temperature, biological materials, hazardous chemicals.
  • May be required to complete Medical Clearance, Respiratory Protection Training, and Fit Testing to wear a respirator as protection against animal allergens where animals are present in the laboratory environment.
