***Reporting to the President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO), the Director of Development is actively involved in business development, and sales opportunities with corporate members. This Director shall plan, direct, oversee, and execute business development, and sales policies, processes, procedures, and programs for WBEC Metro NY and Greater DMV Inc (WBEC NY DMV). Duties and responsibilities include developing sales and pricing strategies and sponsor package development with the goal of maximizing revenue and ensuring customer and constituent engagement and value. Innovate new products or services to grow and sustain the mission of WBEC NY DMV. A working Director who has a portfolio of customers and constituents to pursue and secure, as well as lead and manage the business development and account management departments and staff, formulate policies, plan, and allocate sales materials for WBEC NY DMV.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Review and update Development Funding Plan annually which supports the fiscal health of the organization and provides future financial resources for growth and expansion, including but not limited to grant writing and management, and corporate major giving.
  • Develop strong relationships within the ecosystem to foster a positive image such that companies and alliance partners will make WBEC NY DMV their local funding choice for womenowned business support.
  • Act as primary point of contact for sponsorships and relationships with WBEC NY DMV.
  • Collect, organize, and maintain a complete and accurate database record of corporate members and funding received. Creates funding targets for board of directors.
  • Perform networking at selected regional and national events.
  • Deliver presentations on programs to various corporate and alliance partners as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Skills and Knowledge

  • Excellent personal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Customer service, communication and recordkeeping experience required.
  • Able to manage multiple projects while meeting deadlines.
  • Solid organizational, time management and project management skills required.
  • Initiative and collaborative skills indicated.
  • Foster and promote business relationships and partnering within the ecosystem.
  • Comfortable working with people from diverse backgrounds.
  • Establish rapport and build on relationships to promote mission of WBEC NY DMV.
  • Good public speaking skills required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in sales, business, finance, or related field preferred or comparable 8 years of comparable related experience.
  • Three (3) successful or more years of expertise and professional experience in business development, or funding development, ideally in an innovative and clientdriven nonprofit environment.
  • Knowledge and use of Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel required; Power Point preferred.

Ability to work in a progressive and fast paced entrepreneurial environment is required. Must be self
- motivated, able to work independently, and as a part of a team.


Pay:
$90, $110,000.00 per year
