Description

Create, modify and document programs to control path machining or processing of parts for multi-axis computer numerical control ("CNC") machines utilizing Mastercam or other software.
CNC machines programs intended for lathes, multi-axis spindles and milling machines to cut away material from a solid block of metal.
Write or modify advanced close tolerance programs for CNC machines in the language of the machine's controller.Analyze drawings, sketches, blueprints and/or schematics of part to determine dimension and configuration of cuts, machine speeds and feed rates, according to knowledge of machining processes, part specifications and machine capabilities.
Determine the sequence of machine operations and select the proper cutting tools needed to machine workpieces into desired shapes.
Determine and document reference points and direction of machine cutting paths.Writes program of machine instructions to regulate movement of machine along cutting path.
Writes instruction sheets and cutter lists to guide setup and operation of machine.
Observe machine operation to prove programmed instructions are accurate and/or troubleshoot in-process machining issues that may arise.
Demonstrates ability to appear for work on time, follow directions from a supervisor, interact well with co-workers, understand and follow work rules and procedures, comply with company policies and procedures, goals and objectives, and accepts constructive feedback.
~ Minimum 5 years CNC machining experience preferred.Experience with Mastercam programming software preferred.
Knowledge of computer aided design (CAD) software.
Knowledge of computer and computer systems to program.
