- Analyze drawings and other documentation to prepare cost estimates.
- Assist with calls from customers or dealer/builders as needed.
- Confer with engineers, architects, owners, and contractors to assure accuracy.
- Informs immediate supervisor of any inaccuracies.
- Keep and up-to-date pricing spreadsheet which reflects current and indirect cost.
- Complete and save pricing worksheets to determine the price for panel system and accessory items from plans or sketches supplied by Regional Sales Managers or customer.
- Follow approved estimating practices consistent with company procedures.
- Provides complete and accurate estimates or proposals for each project.
- Utilizes Microsoft Office programs to help complete cost estimates and proposals.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel
- Strong knowledge of construction/manufacturing
- Participates in Lean Manufacturing concepts.

Job DescriptionJob Title: Estimator
Reports To: President
Summary: The estimator is a non-exempt, on-site position and is responsible for the preparation of precise cost estimates on projects for customers, dealers, and builders in a timely manner to support the sales process. In association with estimating, good communication is required to relay information and answer questions that may arise.
Hours: Regular Business hour are Monday-Friday 8:00 AM - 5:00P.M. This position may be eligible for flexible scheduling.

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Other duties may be assigned including cross-training and/or working in other departments.
Job Specific Competencies and Qualifications:
Education and/or Experience: Asssociate Degree, practical laborer experience. Knowledge of construction/manufacturing is required.
Skills: Proficient with Office programs, self-directed, exceptional organization, effective communication skills, detail-oriented, mathematic skills, superior customer service skills, teamwork mentality, willingness to learn, and the ability to read drawings.
